The M/V Wilderness Discoverer small expedition ship is capable of nimble exploration through nature’s most dramatic hideaways. The shallow draft and hull design allows for easy access to Southeast Alaska’s wildlife-rich shores and glacially-fed inlets and serve as ideal “launching pads” for an exciting array of daily adventure excursions. Interior spaces aboard the Wilderness Discoverer offer contemporary colors and brushed metals that complement the wilderness outside and both the public and private spaces are loaded with special amenities.

The M/V Wilderness Discoverer holds 76 passengers and features 36 comfortable staterooms on four decks, including four perfectly situated and spacious Observation Deck Cabins. All cabins are newly refurbished and feature lower berths: some with a pullman-style upper berth to accommodate a third guest. Each cabin includes private facilities with a shower, flat screen TV with DVD player and view window.  The M/V Wilderness Discoverer features a flotilla of 25 stable two-person sea kayaks, a stern mounted watersport launch platform, a full wrap around viewing deck and excursion landing craft for remote explorations by water.

Onboard comforts include Tempur-pedic memory foam mattresses, hot tubs and saunas, exercise equipment, yoga classes and optional massage.  Executive Chefs pair locally caught seafood with delightful wines.  Plus piping hot espresso/coffee/tea service is available 24 hours a day. Educational opportunities come in many forms: listening to a provocative naturalist-led lecture in the main salon, listening to whales via underwater hydrophone and engaging with local natives in their villages or as an Alaska family comes aboard in the wilderness to sell oysters and describe their rugged and remote lifestyle.
