There are 17 thatched cabanas, of varying sleeping configurations and public gathering spots which include the spacious dining room with a cone shaped roof and open-air combined bar and lounge are with are wrap around view of the lake. The hammock hut is preferred by many for siestas.
La Selva or “the Jungle” in Spanish is located 60 miles from Coca down the
Napo
River in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon basin. 17 thatch roofed cabanas each have private bathrooms and hot water are located one mile from the river, on a hillside, overlooking a lake. The cabanas come from native design: rustic, authentic, but comfortable and with unexpected amenities; private bathroom, hot water shower, electricity, fan and everything sanitary beyond your wildest expectations. The cabanas are private bungalows that keep you high and cozy, and are immaculately cleaned everyday and very important: they are made entirely of secondary growth rainforest materials and designed to blend with the surroundings.
A variety of self guided and naturalist guided hikes reveal the biodiversity of the region. In addition,
La Selva offers a butterfly garden and a rainforest canopy observation tower providing and eye level view of rain forest birds and wildlife.
