The 40-passenger Yacht Isabela II is one of the most luxurious yachts cruising the Galapagos, and offers an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for experiencing the full adventure of the Galapagos Islands. The Yacht Isabella II offers the efficiency and intimacy of a smaller yacht yet retains the luxury and amenities of a small ship cruise. Three naturalists point out finches, boobies, sea lions, tortoise and more. On board are comfortable cabins, fine dining, sundeck bar, Jacuzzi and snorkeling and a glass-bottom boat.
The yacht Isabela II is fully air conditioned; all cabins are spacious and have private bathrooms. Its three public decks offer the amenities of a larger vessel, including bar-salon, dining room and sun deck. The library contains a variety of books on Galapagos and Ecuador, as well as excellent nature and conservation videos. From dining room to stateroom, one senses the superior quality at all levels of service. Yacht Isabela II's trained chefs prepare a superb a-la-carte selection of meals. Its helpful, warm staff attends to your every need. The sun deck is comprised of a bar with ample outdoor seating, an observation area for whale and dolphin watching, a Jacuzzi and solarium. As an alternative to snorkeling, the glass-bottom boat offers another opportunity to observe the marine life.
A winter 2012 interior refinish gave the Isabela II a stylish new look across her main deck. Renowned Ecuadorian designer Diego Arteta, who also decorated Casa Gangotena and Mashpi Lodge, led the design refresh, which included new fabrics throughout the bar, lounge and dining room, new carpet, a resized business center with a desk and two shared computers and enhanced lighting.
SEA KAYAKS
There are four double ocean kayaks aboard the Yacht Isabela II. Kayaking is an optional activity in addition to the regular program. Each kayak outing is approximately 30 minutes in the waters off Floreana, Tower and Isabela Islands.
WET SUITS
There are many opportunities for snorkeling during the Yacht Isabela II expedition. During the cooler months of May through December travelers may wish to use one of the 75 shortie wet suits (3mm or 1/8 inch) available in different sizes, for men, women and children. Use of the wet suites is included in the price of the cruise, however damaged or lost wet suits will be added to the guest’s shipboard account.
FITNESS AREA (GYM)
The Yacht Isabela II now has an air conditioned, indoor gym with glass panels on the Boat Deck, open 24 hours, with three POLAR-brand machines including: Treadmill 91Ti, Cross-Trainer 91Xi Total-Body, Lifecycle® Bike 90C Uprigh.
E-MAIL AND INTERNET
The Yacht Isabela II is equipped with satellite internet. Two computers are located in the natural history library (Main Deck) or wireless service is available for an additional fee.
MEALS ON DECK
In addition to the main dining room, the Yacht Isabela II serves meals on deck when weather conditions and navigation allows it. The great scenery that Galápagos offers, makes 'al fresco' dining very attractive.
