M/S Cachalote I is a comfortable and beautifully decorated motor/sailor built in 2002. Aboard Galapagos Cruises the Cachalote accommodate 16 passengers in 8 cabins.  Each cabin has a private bath, porthole, hot/cold showers, a security safe and is fully air conditioned with independent air conditioning units in each cabin. Seven cabins have upper/lower bunks while one cabin has a lower double bed.  Each cabin has 110v power outlets while 220v is available in the salon. 

The Motor Sailor Cachalote has plenty of deck space on three different wooden decks with seats and cushions to relax in the shade or sunbathe during your Galapagos cruise. The salon includes a bar and dining area with panoramic view windows and is equipped with flat screen TV and DVD systems.  Her wooden interiors add comfort and charm. The Cachalote’s crew consists of the Captain, multilingual naturalist guide, engineer, cook and three sailors.  For the enjoyment of the guests, the Cachalote carries sit on top kayaks.  Snorkel gear and wetsuits are available to rent.

The Cachalote I has been awarded the Smart Voyager certification for adhering to conservation standards. She also complies with all international maritime regulations and is SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) certified.
