One of our newest yachts, the La Pinta is a gorgeous 207-foot expedition yacht, with capacity for 48 guests.  La Pinta will offer a relaxed yet lavish expedition atmosphere, with plush outside cabins, large view windows, the highest standards of service, the very best international cuisine plus celebrated Ecuadorian dishes, and all the amenities that make the Galapagos Expedition a trip of a lifetime.

LA PINTA is the Spanish name of Abingdon Island in the northwest of the Galapagos Archipelago – where the islands’ most well-known creature comes from --the Giant Galapagos Tortoise named Lonesome George.   Lonesome George is famous for being the last surviving individual of an otherwise extinct race.  He is depicted in the logo of the Galapagos National Park and an emblem of conservation.

The La Pinta has been awarded a SmartVoyager accreditation  due to its sound environmental, social and safety practices.  This certification is awarded by the Rainforest Alliance, along with their Ecuador-based partner group Conservación y Desarrollo (C&D), to tour operators in the Galapagos Islands who meet a set of strict conservation standards.

The goal of SmartVoyager members is to continually search for the best environmental practices available; permanently train staff on how sustainability works; and to continue to emphasize the importance of environment and wildlife conservation, natural resources management, and the well being of workers and local communities.

On Board Equipment:
La Pinta is equipped with complementary kayaks, snorkel gear, and wetsuits for guests' enjoyment.  Also it has an indoor gym, laundry room, and internet for $5 per 15 min.  A special feature La Pinta offers for it's young travelers is a program called "Young Pirates". This is where kids can enjoy specially-designed menus, earlier dinner hours, kids continental breakfast, recreational material, and our own Galapagos booklet full of fun and trivia.
