We are pleased to announce the M/V Eclipse has obtained certification under the Rainforest Alliance "Smartvoyager" program. After a detailed audit on the environmental, social and safety aspects of the M/V Eclipse, the Smartvoyager Certification was granted to the vessel on the 5th November, 2007.

We hope that the certification of the M/V Eclipse will allow our clients and passengers to travel with us in the full knowledge that they have chosen a vessel which prides itself on the highest standards of management practices in an environmentally sensitive destination such as the Galapagos Islands

Ever since her arrival in Ecuador, the Eclipse has surpassed the other options available as the finest boutique cruise ship in the Galapagos Islands, offering unparalleled levels of comfort and service. She was converted specifically for upscale cruising in the islands, and was designed to meet the exacting demands of luxury travel.

Ships the size of the Eclipse would normally accommodate many more passengers, but her layout is designed compromise on cabin numbers in order to provide passengers with unrivaled cabin space and ample social areas. The Eclipse is unique in offering the generous accommodation of a larger vessel, while preserving the atmosphere and exclusivity of a smaller yacht.

The Galapagos Small Ship Eclipse is a 210 ft expedition vessel that accommodates up to 48 passengers. The Eclipse has 24 spacious, fully air-conditioned staterooms, with either a queen or twin bed configuration, plus 2 single cabins. Every cabin boasts either picture windows or large portholes, providing a view of the surrounding waters. All the ship’s twin beds can be converted to king-size beds upon request. Each cabin has well-appointed bathrooms with fresh towels provided every day, hairdryers, and the complimentary use of bathrobes. Exceptional service is provided by 29 crew and 4 naturalist guides.
  

The Small Ship Eclipse preserves a small boat atmosphere and offers features such as a spacious dining room and shaded ‘al fresco’ dining area, international cuisine, naturalist guide for every 12 passengers, lounge, library/video room, dip pool, jacuzzi, deck bar, souvenir shop, topside sun deck and an infirmary with a medical doctor on board at all times. Also stocked with snorkel equipment and kayaks for your enjoyment.

A fully air-conditioned and extremely roomy and comfortable ship, the Eclipse’s large cabins have either a double or twin bed arrangement with ocean view windows on the boat deck and ocean view portholes on the main deck.  She offers cabins for single travelers, a rare option in the Galapagos.  Each cabin has a large closet, writing table, individual climate control and spacious bathroom with hairdryer.

There is a well-equipped lounge for relaxation and for the nightly briefings on the day's discoveries and the following day's activities. In addition to the elegant indoor dining room, there is an al fresco dining area located around the pool, where you can enjoy the islands' spectacular scenery over a delicious lunch. There is also has a well-stocked library for quiet study and reading.

One of the favorite areas on board the Eclipse is the observation/sun deck, ideal for stargazing, whale watching or simply relaxing in the comfortable sun loungers. The ship also has a bar, pool bar and a boutique for the purchase of our exclusive range of souvenirs and Eclipse apparel.
