A primary purpose of our adventures is to view wildlife in its natural habitat. While many travelers are focused on the large, “charismatic mega-fauna” such as bears, whales, monkeys, sloths and eagles we will also illustrate the lesser known, more conspicuous species such as pygmy anteaters, boreal toads and leafcutter ants. Viewing animals in an undisturbed, natural setting is often the highlight of your vacation. Our itineraries are designed to highlight remote areas where wildlife is found, while our small group sizes enable us to safely view animals without disturbing them. Our guides are experts in local wildlife and know when and where animals occur, maximizing opportunities to view wildlife. Because wild animals are unpredictable our itineraries are flexible, often determined by local wildlife conditions and migratory patters. Our accommodations are frequently situated among pristine habitats and wildlife viewing is a simple matter of sitting on the porch. Other times we utilize adventurous activities such as hiking, sea kayaking or rafting to access wildlife rich environments. The essence of the adventure is to explore environments where the animals occur. We can then enjoy those precious moments when wildlife is sighted at play, eating or just hanging out. We get as close as possible without disturbing the animals or bringing ourselves in any danger.
