One of the most inspiring benefits of travel is to experience cultures different from our own. While we all enjoy comfort and security while traveling, it is important to not surround ourselves in a bubble of our own culture. Each of our destinations has its own fascinating culture and lifestyle, some very different our own. We believe it is important to travel with a natural curiosity, an open mind and with a deep respect for all cultures encountered.
All of our adventures include some level of interaction with people and cultures along the way. We use only the best, English speaking, resident guides on all of our trips. Travel with a local guide can open doors to cultural experiences and break down ethnic barriers not easily achieved by foreign guides or independent travel. They have an intimate understanding of culture and lifestyle from a native perspective and can expose visitors to their community of friends, family and neighbors. Our accommodations are often locally owned and are representative of the area, creating additional opportunities to interact with local people. Meals may consist of local dishes featuring exotic fruits, vegetable, fish and even meats unfamiliar to our palate. No matter where you travel, be sure to bring your camera as photographs of local people are very special and colorful moments you will want to preserve. A Polaroid camera, which allows you to share photographs with local people, is an excellent way to make friends while traveling and be sure to always ask permission before taking a persons photograph.
