Ours are not conventional cruises. A voyage aboard a small ship or yacht provides unparalleled access to pristine coastal environments, wildlife and adventure in a fun and exciting atmosphere. These are intimate, small group, voyages with a focus on nature and wildlife. Explore remote wilderness in style, participating in daily off vessel activities that may include whale watching, sea kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, shore hikes and exploration in versatile Zodiac craft. Return to the vessel for a hot shower, delicious meal and a good nights sleep while the vessel repositions for tomorrows adventure. Our fleet of small ships and yachts explores the Galapagos Islands, Coastal Alaska, the Sea of Cortez in Mexico, Belize, Panama and Costa Rica.

a typical day

Whether you are aboard a yacht in Alaska, an expedition vessel in Antarctica, or a family voyage in the Galapagos you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. These vessels ply wildlife rich waters with flexible itineraries that take advantage of the unexpected pod of whales and wildlife sightings. Cruise scenic shorelines and remote islands searching for birds and wildlife before dropping the anchor and exploring up close, off the vessel. Make daily excursions for naturalist led hikes, tide pooling and beach combing. There are excellent opportunities for sea kayaking and snorkeling (no experience necessary) enabling you to explore beautiful coastline up close and observe wildlife in a natural setting. Available activity options depend on the nature of the destination. Fabulous meals are served aboard the vessels and feature delicious seafood specialties and other hearty selections. In the evening retire on deck to view the southern sky or aurora borealis. Retire to your private cabin resting up for tomorrow’s adventure.

physical requirements

Life aboard a small boat requires some physical agility to move up and down stairways and through smaller doorways. With as few as six people aboard a private yacht there is a social nature to the trip where shipmates have private cabins yet share close common quarters. Guests must be prepared for a flexible itinerary determined by weather and wildlife. Shore hikes generally last a couple of hours with plenty of stops to enjoy your surroundings. Some landings are dry while others are “wet” requiring cautious footing in shallow water. Sea kayaking and snorkeling do not require any previous experience but participants should be comfortable on the water. Crew members will provide equipment, instruction and guidance.
