The 124-foot M/V Amatista, sailing in the Peruvian Amazon River, was built with traditional riverboat lines yet boasts such comforts as air-conditioned cabins and private bathrooms for a maximum of 31 passengers. The vessel immerses you in the "Forest of Mirrors," where you can see endless reflections of the jungle and sky right from your cabin or the 360-degree panoramic view sundeck.
Amatista's size is perfect for navigating the Amazon River, providing a comfortable dining room, bar, reading room, sleeping accommodations, modern navigation technology and standards for cruising and water safety.
Common Areas Aboard Amatista
Guests may gather and relax aboard Amatista in the exterior bar-lounge, interior lounge and lecture room, dining room, observation deck or lateral passageways. There is a covered dining room with bar as well as a sundeck with a 360-degree panoramic view. A crew of 15 includes the Cruise Director and two naturalist bilingual guides (English and Spanish speaking). There is no phone coverage during the cruise on the Amazon aboard Amatista. There is no internet connection and computer access is not available. If an emergency happens to arise, the ship staff will contact our office via radio.
Dining Aboard Amatista
Inspired by the tropical flavors of the Amazon, the food and beverages at the boat are prepared with fresh local ingredients. Jungle Experiences offers its guests breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style of the regions fusion cuisine. All meals include a variety of salads and fruits and a selection of breads. We also offer vegetarian dishes and children menu, upon request made in advance. The meals are served in the dining room, where you can also enjoy bar service (The price does not include alcoholic beverages nor bottled drinks).
Cabins Aboard Amatista
There are 15 cabins aboard Amatista, 14 double-occupancy cabins and 1 triple-occupancy cabin, decked in a beautiful classic style with wood veneer. Each features exterior view windows, air conditioning and a private bathroom with shower. One room is the perfect size to accomodate families, with room for three guests. Cabins measure 170 square feet and can be configured with two twin beds or one queen bed. In each room find a desk, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dresser, hairdryer and amenities basket, as well as smoke detectors and hot water 24 hours a day. Desks in each cabin offer a lockable drawer where guests can leave their items of value.
