Travel on board the 18-suite M/V Anakonda, the only luxury ship in the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest, and experience the Amazon River in a most unique way. Visit the remote and pristine areas where few have had the opportunity to travel, with only 40 fellow passengers, and interact with the region’s local communities while enjoying the comforts, facilities and services of a 5-star boutique hotel in the middle of the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Anakonda's itineraries have been carefully customized by its company's CEO, Raul Garcia, who was the Captain of the Flotel Orellana for over 15 years. No one, aside from locals, knows the area better than Raul, which is why the Anakonda is able to offer perfectly balanced itineraries including onboard activities and Amazon excursions during the day and night. Anakonda's 18 suites, each with an area over 215 square feet, feature sitting areas, large and comfortable beds, and wall-to-wall panoramic windows. The observation deck with two outdoor Jacuzzis and an al fresco lounge are ideal places to enjoy a cocktail, relax with a good book or simply appreciate the spectacular view.

Anakonda Ship Review

AdventureSmith Explorations’ Anakonda ship review includes a detailed description of the small ship including deck plans and a photo gallery. Our Amazon experts have been aboard the Anakonda firsthand to write the review below. Please read our Anakonda review then contact our cruise experts to compare the Anakonda with other Amazon cruises.

As you first gaze at the Anakonda while arriving by motorized canoe she looks exactly what you would expect an Amazon riverboat to look like. With a wood-paneled and glass exterior, she is crafted in a timeless riverboat style with a contemporary modern flare.

The Anakonda has three spacious decks with ample room in the lounge, outdoor patio, forward salons and a huge observation deck on top. The staterooms are well appointed with floor to ceiling windows, a large bathroom with massage shower while the suites are even larger with a balcony and Jacuzzi tub. The dining room is comfortable with great views and delicious cuisine, but it might be crowded when the ship is completely full. Fortunately they also serve al-fresco meals on deck. The interior of the ship and each stateroom has individual climate controls to keep things nice and cool. Another benefit to cruising aboard the Anakonda, when compared to the many lodges located in this part of the Amazon, is her ability to navigate farther down river visiting a diversity of rainforest sites.
