Peru is a year round destination with the best season for adventure travel is the dry, cool season from April through October.  This is the best time for hiking and trekking the Inca Trail and Amazon Rainforest explorations. Expect some rain if traveling November through March  Climate is distinct between there geographical regions:

The Peruvian Coast and Andean Slopes are generally dry.  December though April the sky is clear with hot and humid climate.  The remainder of the  year coastal fog moves in. 

In the Andes Mountains the dry season runs May to September with cold nights, dry weather and sunny days.  The wettest season runs from late January through March.

The Amazon lowlands and eastern Andean slopes have a dry season similar the highlands with a more pronounced wet season.
