Cruise the Peruvian Amazon with special guest Jack Hanna
Tahoe City, CA, Oct. 14, 2010 -- The Peruvian Amazon will get a VIP visitor when “Jungle” Jack Hanna, naturalist, TV celebrity and Emmy award-winner, boards the MV Aqua on a working cruise this November.
Hanna is filming the upcoming season of his syndicated series Into the Wild. The three-night / four-day trip departs Nov. 6 on this intimate and luxurious 12-suite vessel that will access one of the most remote areas of the Peruvian Amazon, the Pacaya Samiria Reserve which Hanna and his crew will explore and document.
On-board guests and then television audiences will sail through various Amazon River tributaries and come face to face with the mystical pink dolphin, cayman, sloth, giant lilies and hundreds of other rare and exotic Amazon animal and plant species.
“If you have ever seen him on TV you know that Jack Hanna is a true character. To share the wonder of discovery with “Jungle” Jack Hanna while cruising the Amazon is surely the trip of a lifetime. His enthusiasm is infectious and his sense of adventure ensures all around him are having fun. The side benefit is that you might even end up on TV,” said Todd Smith, AdventureSmith Exploration’s (www.adventuresmithexplorations.com) owner and founder.
Guests fly to Lima and transfer to Iquitos where they board the ship. While viewing wildlife is the main objective of this cruise, there are also opportunities for cultural exchanges in remote native villages along the Amazon.
This cruise, said Smith, is the perfect compliment to a land-based Peruvian adventure. Rates are from $2,250 per person, double. For information please see
