Diary of a Galapagos Cruise

Day 1 - Touched down in this Ecuadorian island group off the coast of South America, which was put on the map by Charles Darwin, & collapsed into our ocean-view cabin on the 48 passenger La Pinta. Love the Nautical Decor!

Day 2 - Blue Footed Boobies, at last!  Worth the 2  mile hike to a colony of the cuties. Youtubed their mating dance.

Day 3 - Dropped anchor at Floreana Island, took the plunge to swim with green sea turtles. Back on board, feasted on seabass and partook in rounds of beer with new Brazilian buds.

Day 4 - Marched with Penguins - so mini! Could't get over the colonies of 3-foot-long Marine Iguanas on Isabela and Fernandina Islands.

Day 5 - Are we extras in Jurassic Park? Saw 500-pound prehistoric looking Galapagos tortoise on Santa Cruz Island - Incredible.

Day 6 - No need for the stair master: climbing to the top of Pinnacle Rock on Bartolome Island is a work out.  Scoped out Rabida Island, with its unique reddish hue sand.

Day 7 - Kayaked Gardner Bay and beached ourselves next to Sea Lions on Espanola islet.  That night, sad it was out last, we stargazed from the hottub, amazed at the rush of exploring these unspoiled isles.

Seven night cruise, plus three nights in Quito $6,295 per person, all inclusive
