They were the first to earn and maintain the ecological certification SmartVoyager and Ecuador's first carbon-neutral cruise operator. The Eric, Letty and Flamingo yachts operate two 8-day Galapagos cruise itineraries, which can be combined to create a comprehensive 15-day cruise. View the itinerary tab for more details.

Galapagos cruise shore excursions aboard the Eric, Letty and Flamingo include hiking ancient lava fields where you will encounter prehistoric reptiles. See the courtship dance of the blue-footed boobies, Galapagos penguins, flightless cormorants and massive waved albatross, just to name a few of the comical sea birds. Explore beaches of black, red and green sand leading to the equatorial Pacific Ocean. Being able to snorkel, scuba dive or kayak while on a cruise to the Galapagos Islands is one of the highlights. Encounter a range of ocean life, including sea lions, dolphins, whales and tame sharks in the marine reserve surrounding these extraordinary islands.

Families with children are welcome throughout the year aboard Eric, Letty and Flamingo. However, during school breaks, there are designated Galapagos Family Cruises that offer the best of a science museum, zoo, aviary, marine park and cruise vacation all rolled into one. Naturalists aboard the Eric, Letty and Flamingo know how to bring these Islands to live and to balance learning with fun for the entire family. The Eric, Letty and Flamingo also offers special cruises for teens, graduations and women. Call our Galapagos cruise experts for details.

Trip Reviews

Overall Trip Review

The trip was amazing.  We were very happy overall.  William, our city guide in Guayaquil was excellent.  We had a private tour of the city and he was very informative and accommodating.  We learned a lot about Ecuador and its history.

Accommodations Review

The M/Y Eric accommodations were excellent.  The boat was spotlessly clean and the crew was excellent.  Our stay at the Hotel Oro Verde was a little mixed.  On the way back we were on a remodeled floor and the room was excellent.  It was probably the nicest shower I have ever been in.  On the way out we were in an older room that was just ok.  It was shabby and the air conditioner did not work the best.

Meals Review

The meals on the M/Y/ Eric were excellent.  Lots of well-prepared meals and snacks.  The cooks were very good about any special dietary needs that passengers had.  Would recommend them to anyone who has any special food needs.

Crew & Guides Review

The guides were great and very professional.  They were knowledgeable and excited about the islands and wildlife.  One of guides was Orlando, who is apparently famous in the naturalist set.  He and is fellow guide, Renninger, were both good.  We did have one incident with Rennie where he had tourists help him chase a sea lion who had a rope around its neck.  They had the best intentions of trying to help the sea lion, but we did feel it was a bit irresponsible to have tourists in the water try to chase down a sea lion.  No harm was done, so it all worked out well.

AdventureSmith Explorations Review

Aaron was great to work with.  Very informative and patient with questions.  I would happily work with Aaron again and would recommend him to fellow travelers.

Overall Trip Review

All aspects of the trip were excellent (Galapagos trip, Napo Wildlife Center trip and transfer package). All personnel were polite and helpful. Hotel Patio Andaluz met all of our expectations and more; comfortable room...

Hard to pick one specific place or experience we enjoyed the most... We loved the fact that we kept seeing all the animals we'd hope to see, including some rare or uncommon animals. The naturalist guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly at both the Galapagos and Napo Wildlife Center. We loved the DVD provided at the end of the Galapagos trip. The activities were well-planned, and well-paced with just enough down time. Wetsuits were difficult to put on at the beach, but snorkeling was amazing.

Accommodations Review

We were very happy to be upgraded from the Iguana Deck to the Dolphin Deck. All accommodations (Hotel Patio Andaluz, Flamingo I and Napo Wildlife Center) were beautiful and always clean.

Meals Review

I am partial to ceviche so was thrilled to have it on the Flamingo. Also, I chose seafood every night and it was always well-prepared and delicious. The tasty snacks prepared after each activity on the boat were delicious and much appreciated. Also enjoyed the Ecuadorian dishes.

Guides & Crew Review

We can't say enough good things about all of our guides, beginning with Gabriele from Metropolitan Touring in Quito; next Jose Bienvenides (Pepe) and Janeth on the Flamingo I, and ending with Carolina (naturalist) and Javier (community leader) at Napo. All of them had in-depth knowledge not only of the flora and fauna of their respective areas, but also of the cultural and historical information.

AdventureSmith Explorations Review

We knew exactly what to bring and how to prepare. We appreciate all the information provided. Somehow, we must've missed the info on tipping at Napo and just barely had enough cash. All of our transfers were managed efficiently and professionally. There was always someone waiting for us. Each person was polite and helpful.

We had always wanted to go the Galapagos and friends who had done the trip to the Amazon and on the Letty led us to research it on our own. They had gone with Natural Habitats and we found that it was a bit pricey for us and AdventureSmith offered the same trip for a little less making it more affordable for us.

Traveler Advice

Bring plenty of cash (for tipping).

Overall Trip Review

Everything went smoothly and we had a great trip. We enjoyed the Galapagos Islands, particularly the islands that had snorkeling and hikes. The visit to the towns was of less interest. Some of the nights on board were extremely bumpy and so bad that hardly anyone even came for dinner!

Accommodations Review

The boat was "cozy," but could use some touch ups; the room had a musty odor and needed to be aired out every day.

Crew & Guides Review

The crew was outstanding and attentive. Ivan and Karina were a terrific team. Our host on the boat, Panchito, was awesome and full of energy. He always anticipated your needs!

Traveler Advice

Bring extra camera batteries and plenty of memory for the camera! Bring your own wetsuit if you care about fit.
