One of the worlds most amazing and breathtaking phenomena is Alaska's Northern Lights. In a land that stays dark for most of the winter, these spectacular dancing lights make the sky come to life for an experience you will never forget. With this five day tour from Fairbanks, and extension option aboard the Aurora Train, you will witness some of the most unique and spectacular viewing spots Alaska has to offer. Day 1 - Fairbanks

Arrive in Fairbanks on your own and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, while enjoying the heritage of this gold rush town, you may get lucky and catch your first glimpse of this magnificent display.

Day 2 - Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs

This afternoon transfer from Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs. There, indulge in the full Northern Light experience by basking in the natural hot springs and gazing up at the magic in the sky. Your admission to the Ice Museum located here is included, so be sure to go in and have a drink "on ice".

Day 3 - Chena Hot Springs - Full Day

Today is your chance to explore the resort and take part in any optional activities of your choosing. Don't tire your self out with the days activities because tonight you are booked on a Snow Coach Excursion which will take you to a unique viewing yurt for more spectacular sights of the Northern Lights.

Day 4 - Chena Hot Springs to Fairbanks

The morning is free for last minute explorations of this unique resort. After lunch you will be transferred back to your hotel in Fairbanks for the night.

Day 5 - Fairbanks to home

Say goodbye to this Alaskan town and breathtaking experience, as you are transferred to the airport today for your flight home.

Optional Adventure - Aurora Train to Anchorage

To extend your trip for one more day and unique journey, board the Aurora train for some of the best winter scenery you will see anywhere. As you pass through Denali National Park all dressed in her winter white, be on the lookout for the massive Mt. McKinley. You will arrive in Anchorage at 8:00pm and transfer to your hotel for the night. This extension can be added on to the end or beginning of your tour. The Aurora train only operates on Saturdays and Sundays, with a schedule of Saturdays - Anchorage to Fairbanks, and Sundays - Fairbanks to Anchorage. The starting days for the tour plus extension are: Wednesdays from Fairbanks (thus Day 5 landing on Sunday), and Fridays from Anchorage (Day 2 landing on Saturday for the reverse itinerary).

Notes on Itinerary: We may occasionally alter itineraries slightly for safety, or to take advantage of weather, wildlife, and unplanned discoveries. Our ability to be spontaneous makes our style of travel unique.

Land Cost Includes: Airport and hotel courtesy van transfers, accommodations, local guides, entrance fees and meals as specified in itinerary, Anchorage to Fairbanks transportation included with Aurora train option.

Not Included: Airfare to Alaska; airport taxes, excess baggage charges; any additional hotel nights in Anchorage; items of a personal nature such as alcoholic beverages, and insurance of any kind.

Arrival/Departure: For the standard Northern Lights Tour, your trip begins and ends in Fairbanks, Alaska. You may Arrive anytime on Day 1 of the outlined itinerary and depart anytime on Day 6. For the Aurora train option your trip will begin in either Fairbanks or Anchorage depending on departure date. Transfers will be provided both upon arrival and departure from Anchorage/Fairbanks Airports.

Travel Insurance: We highly recommend our travelers protect their investment with Travel Insurance. Please note that you must purchase your Travel Insurance policy within 14 days of booking your trip for it to cover pre-existing medical conditions.
