The Grace was a wedding gift from Aristotle Onassis to Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco, and it was on board this vessel where they spent their honeymoon getaway. Cruise back in time and lay back in luxury as you enjoy one of the finest cruises available in the Galapagos Islands. The Grace boasts a high crew to passenger ratio, spacious cabins and stylish lines. The carefully selected professional and friendly naturalists aboard Evolution are the most knowledgeable in the region, with an average of 15 years of experience guiding on the Islands. Travelers comment that he service on board this ship, coupled with the true feeling of a safari experience, is unlike anything that is currently offered in Galapagos.

Experience the full spectrum of Galapagos wildlife that made the Islands famous and inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. Many Galapagos cruises avoid the long navigations to save costs, but the Grace believes that a true Galapagos experience involves visiting the most remote islands as well. Amongst these is Genovesa or Tower Island, found far north on the archipelago. Visit this “Island of Birds” and be amazed at the variety of bird life that inhabits this partially submerged volcano.

Qualifications: This trip will be enjoyed by anyone who is in good health and leads an active life. Daily excursions from the boat to the islands will be made in pangas (dinghies). Trip members will hike from the landing point to specific areas for wildlife observation. Hiking time for most landings will be a couple of hours round trip with lots of time to stop to study, photograph and enjoy the flora and fauna. Some landings are dry but many are "wet", requiring cautious footing on slippery rocks. The boat staff will be on hand to assist. There are numerous opportunities to swim and snorkel.

Snorkeling: The underwater experience is an integral part of any Galapagos cruise. We encourage all travelers to try snorkeling. Snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins, floating vest and net bag) are available to rent for the duration of the cruise. Shortie wet suits are also available for rent and are recommended from June to December.
