This Sagitta cruise is no longer operating. Click to our Galapagos small ship cruises for current trips.
The S/Y Sagitta is a beautifully appointed 120-foot steel-hulled three-mast sailing ship that cruises Galapagos waters in full flare. The S/Y Sagitta’s extra-beamy build makes her a perfect choice for travelers seeking a stable Galapagos sailing experience as she cruises the Islands with hardly a roll.
A Galapagos Sailing Cruise aboard the Sagitta combines enjoyable sailing, simple comforts and delicious meals with amazing up close wildlife experiences. Ample deck space encourages guests to relax and take in the sights as the Sagitta cruises gracefully through the Galapagos Archipelago.
Talented naturalist guides bring you into intimate contact with the unique creatures and ecosystems of the Galapagos. Spend time ashore hiking among albatross, kayaking with marine iguanas, snorkeling with sea lions, on zodiac rides to remote ecosystems or perhaps just relaxing on a crescent beach. The Sagitta is a great choice for travelers interested in a Galapagos cruise by comfortable and stable sailboat.
Please note that winds and currents in the Galapagos Islands are unpredictable. The S/Y Sagitta will raise her sails as much as possible but may also travel under motor power to reach the next destination on her Galapagos cruise.
Galapagos Sagitta Cruise Itineraries
There are five Sagitta Galapagos cruise itineraries total to choose from: two 6 day/5 night cruises and one 5 day/4 night cruise that can be combined to create a 15 day/14 night itinerary; also two 8 day/7 night cruises that can be combined as well. The 15 day Galapagos cruises are comprehensive and have no repeated landing sites. The shorter itineraries can also be combined in various ways to create longer 10, 11 or 15 day cruises.

All meals are prepared and served by the crew on board. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase on board.
Qualifications: This trip will be enjoyed by anyone who is in good health and leads an active life. Daily excursions from the boat to the islands will be made in pangas (dinghies). Trip members will hike from the landing point to specific areas for wildlife observation. Hiking time for most landings will be a couple of hours round trip with lots of time to stop to study, photograph and enjoy the flora and fauna. Some landings are dry but many are "wet", requiring cautious footing on slippery rocks. The boat staff will be on hand to assist. There are numerous opportunities to swim and snorkel
Snorkeling: The underwater experience is an integral part of any Galapagos cruise. We encourage all travelers to try snorkeling. Snorkeling gear is available for free aboard Sagitta.
