The innovative Mashpi Lodge is an elegant hideaway that redefines traditional tourism; geared for those who seek a different sort of jungle experience. Time and space will take on a different meaning as you become immersed in the deep green forest, exploring pristine landscapes such as the rainforest canopy (with the special Aerial Tram), viewing on-site cultural vestiges of the earliest rainforest dwellers, learning about the native flora and fauna and interacting with local people.
Mashpi Lodge brings together first-rate service and the singular natural and cultural wonders of the Ecuadorian rainforest. Discerning and environmentally-aware visitors will explore the remote Private Rainforest Reserve – without sacrificing comfort or style. Mashpi Lodge features impeccable service and the utmost in accommodations, facilities and dining. It is built to the high standards necessary to qualify as one of the prestigious “Luxury Camps and Lodges of the World.”
Day 1 - Quito to Mashpi
Depart from Quito to Mashpi, passing the Equator Monument and Latitude 0. After about two-and-a-half hours, arrive at the entrance to the Mashpi Rainforest Biodiversity Reserve, which extends over the surrounding 1,300 hectares (3,212 acres) – a haven for wildlife and biodiversity. Here, stop at the Hummingbird Viewpoint to learn more about these irrepressible flying machines and enjoy a drink. Winding 6 km (3.75 miles) further aboard electric buggies, reach the lodge at approximately 12 pm for a refreshing drink and check-in. Lunch is served soon after, followed by a short time to relax. After an afternoon of activities, meet your Naturalist Guide for a short briefing about the next day. After dinner, optional night walks head out from the hotel.

Following breakfast, head out from the lodge to explore, returning for lunch and a rest, before enjoying an afternoon amid nature, then dinner, night walks and sleep.
