On this spectacular 8 day Classical Greece itinerary you will cruise to the beautiful, whitewashed Cycladic Islands, Crete - the largest and southernmost Greek Island and the Peloponnese with Monemvassia and Nafplion with all their historical treasures. With optional excursions on Delos, Santorini, Heraklion, Monemvassia and Mycenae, you are sure to get the Greek experience of your dreams!
Day 1 - Marina Zea (Piraeus) - Kea
2:00-3:00pm embarkation from Marina Zea. Depart via Cape Sounion and sail to Kea. Take some leisure time to explore Kea’s tiny port, Korrisia after dinner. Depart in the early hours for Delos. Spend the night at sea.

Day 2 - Delos (anchorage) - Mykonos
Begin the day with an optional morning tour to the unique archaeological site of Delos, antiquity’s most sacred island. This 5,000 year old settlement is one of the largest outdoor museums of the world, inscribed by UNESCO on the World Heritage list. In 1872 the French Archaeological School started with systematic excavations in Delos, which still continue today together with the Greek Archaeological School. The Delos Museum is not to be missed with its magnificent sculpts, mosaics and clay cases dating from prehistoric period up to Roman. After, head to the port of Tourlos in Mykonos, with a swim stop on the way. The afternoon and evening are free to enjoy the island’s cosmopolitan lifestyle. Overnight in Mykonos.

Day 3 - Santorini
Santorini is today what remained after an enormous volcanic explosion which occurred some 3,600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological Caldera. Arrive in Santorini around noon and drop anchor at Fira. Here experience the stunning natural drama of the volcanic caldera. You have the option to tour the archaeological sites and typical villages which have unique views over the Aegean Sea. Overnight sailing to Crete.

Day 4 - Rethymnon, Crete
This morning arrive at Crete’s famous and lively port of Rethymnon which displays a blend of modernity and old time charm with its remains of Venetian and Ottoman architecture. Enjoy an optional tour to the ancient city of Knossos near Heraklion before a late departure for Kythira. Overnight at sea.

Day 5 - Kythira
Begin the day with a late morning swim stop and afternoon arrival to Kythira - a less known island gem now fast becoming a favorite among visitors to Greece. In Ancient Greek Mythology, Kythira was considered to be the island of celestial Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Spend the evening at your leisure to visit the picturesque main town of Chora and experience the subdued charms of this peaceful island. Overnight in Kythira.

Day 6 - Monemvassia, Nafplion
Early morning sailing to Monemvassia - originally called Malvasia by the Frank Templars, is a fishing and touristic town known for its Medieval Fortress built on a rocky islet connected to mainland by a narrow bridge and this is why it is also called the Gibraltar of Eastern Mediterranean. Here, discover this medieval fortified town with leisure time to explore the uniquely preserved Byzantine and Venetian architecture and experience the beauty of the natural setting. Depart for Nafplion in the early afternoon, with a swim stop on the way. Arrive early evening to Nafplion, one of the most picturesque cities in Greece . The old quarter is charming, with narrow streets and characteristic period architecture. Also, impressive medieval fortifications can be seen in the port and crowning the hills above. Overnight in Nafplion.

Day 7 - Hydra or Spetses
Begin with an optional tour to Mycenae - the powerful walled palace of Agamemnon, the Homeric Achaean king. Depart early afternoon for the islands of Hydra or Spetses. Hydra Island is one of the most un-spoiled and interesting Greek islands that is is a preserved national monument and has retained all its 17th & 18th century charm and quaintness. Spend time at leisure to explore this picturesque port town. Overnight in port.

Day 8 - Marina Zeas (Athens)
Departure in the early hours for Marina Zea, Piraeus. Arrival and disembarkation after breakfast.

Included:
Shipboard accommodations, ocean transportation, on board entertainment as specified in the cruise program selected, American buffet breakfast and one main meal daily - including a welcome cocktail, a Greek Night, fun BBQ (weather permitting) and Captain's Dinner; regular coffee, tea and mineral water free all day, and services of our expedition staff.
Exclusions:
Port charges, fuel surcharge, travel insurance, transfers, optional air/sea or land programs (unless noted), shore excursions, airport facility charges, taxes/fees, nor do they include items of a personal nature such as alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, gratuities, gift shop purchases, medical services, phone calls, etc. All onboard charges are in Euros.
Room Configurations:
For single occupancy cabin reservations, a 50% single supplement is applicable for on the fare per person in twin cabin. Single space is capacity controlled. Third person rates are available in category A only at 30% reduction of the double occupancy rate.
Families & Children:
Children between the ages of 7-10 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 50% discount on the cruise fare per person in twin cabin. Children between the ages of 10-16 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 35% discount. Port taxes are not discounted.
Arrival & Departure:
The Classic Greece cruise begins and ends in Marina Zea, Piraeus. Embarkation is at 2:00pm on day one (Friday) of the itinerary. Plan flights to arrive early morning as to have time to transfer to the ship. We highly recommend arriving one day prior to avoid any delay or baggage issues. Disembarkation is after breakfast on day 8. Plan outward flights no sooner than noon for airport check in time.
Payment & Cancellation:
In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking. A
Reservation Form, which includes a release of liability, must be completed and signed by all travelers. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Cancellations are subject to the following fees, based on number of days prior to departure:
Up to 91 days - 50% of deposit
90 to 31 days - 50% of total trip cost
30 to 0 days - 100% of total trip cost

Qualifications:
This trip will be enjoyed by anyone who is in good health and leads an active life. Daily excursions from the boat will be made in Zodiacs. Trip members will take excursions to specific areas for wildlife observation. Hiking time for most landings will be a couple of hours roundtrip with lots of time to stop to study, photograph and enjoy the flora and fauna. Some landings are dry but many are "wet", requiring cautious footing on slippery rocks. The boat staff will be on hand to assist.
