Designed for travelers seeking a quick getaway to an exotic destination, our Tikal and Belize Escape features spectacular Maya ruins, abundant rainforest birds and wildife combined with colorful coral reef and Caribbean beaches. Day 1 - Arrive Flores, Guatemala

Designed for travelers seeking a quick getaway to an exotic destination, our Tikal and Belize Escape features spectacular Maya ruins, abundant rainforest birds and wildlife combined with colorful coral reef and Caribbean beaches. Visit Tikal National Park in Guatemala's pristine Peten Rainforest. Snorkel, scuba dive or just sail among Caribbean Islands and barrier reef. Upscale hotels, transfers and guided explorations are included. This trip begins in Flores, Guatemala every Saturday and Tuesday or also runs in reverse beginning in Belize City every Saturday or Wednesday. Take advantage of new direct flights from Houston to Flores, Guatemala on Continental Airlines.

Day 2 - Tikal National Park

Spend the Day in the company of an expert Maya guide exploring the magnificent achievements of these fascinating ancient people. At its height Tikal was home to over 100,000 Maya and was a cultural and political center. It becomes easy to imagine life in the city as you explore temples, plazas, multi leveled palaces, ball courts and living areas. Howler and Spider monkeys, coatamundi, are commonly seen while the elusive jaguar and ocelot are know to survive in this protected rainforest reserve. Almost 300 species of bird have been identified in Tikal including toucans, motmots and parrots. At the days end return to your Flores hotel.

Many travelers choose to add another night in Flores to further explore the rich diversity of the Peten region. Additional nights cost $75 per night. .

Day 3 - Flores to Belize

Enjoy a free morning to explore Flores, a small town built on an island in Lake Peten Itza. Wander the narrow streets and hilltop central plaza flanked by charming houses, shops and restaurants with red tile roofs. From Flores take a short mid day scenic flight to Belize City. Upon arrival you are transferred to the Radisson Fort George Hotel.

Day 4 - Belize Adventure

Belize's small size and incredible diversity allow travelers to choose from a myriad of activities (at additional cost). Visit the world's second largest barrier reef with snorkeling, SCUBA diving at Shark Ray Alley, Hol Chan Marine reserve, Turneffe Island, Lighthouse Reef or the Great Blue Hole. Other reef tours include Manatee watching, island hopping, reef, river and deep sea fishing. Explore pristine rainforest and abundant bird watching and wildlife at the Black Howler Monkey Sanctuary, Crooked Tree Bird Sanctuary, Coscomb Basin Jaguar Reserve, Panti Medicinal Trail, Inland Blue Hole or Mountain Pine Ridge. Belize lies at the heart of the Mundo Maya with opportunities for guided explorations of nearby ruins including Altun Ha, Lamanai, Caracol, Xunantunich or Cahal Pech. Return to the Radisson Fort George Hotel for overnight.

Many travelers choose to add another night to further explore Belize's ruins, reef and rainforest. Additional nights cost $100 per night.

Our local representative will transfer you to the Belize International Airport for your departing flight.

Single Travelers: Rates are available for single travelers. Single Supplement $275

Land Cost Includes: Each itinerary includes all lodging as listed on the itinerary or similar; meals as indicated; all airport/hotel transfers when arriving and departing the stated arrival and departure dates of the trip; all land, air and water transportation within destination; entrance fees to national parks and reserves as specified; and guide services as specified.

Not Included: International airfare to/from the destination; excess baggage fees; the cost of obtaining passports; visas or tourist cards; airport arrival and departure taxes; meals not specified in the itinerary; alcoholic beverages; personal expenses such as room service; beverages and laundry; personal communication charges; and gratuities to tour escort, guides or drivers. US$30 departure tax out of Flores, Guatemala and US$35 departure tax out of Belize City is not included. Personal or travel insurance coverage is not included but STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
