Active travelers appreciate this up close explorations of Belize's pristine tropical rain forest, underground limestone caves and colorful barrier reef. Enjoy cave tubing and jungle wildlife watching in the company of expert naturalist guides. Explore the pristine reef, ruins and rainforest of Southern Belize from the isolated Placencia Peninsula. Accommodations include jungle cabanas and beachfront cottages. Guided jungle, cave and barrier reef snorkeling are included.
Day 1 - Belize City to Maya Mountains
Upon arrival at Belize City International Airport you are met by our local representative for the two hour transfer to our lodge on the banks of the Caves Branch River. If time allows make two stops along the way. First visit the Community Baboon Sanctuary, where eight local villages work together to protect habitat for the Black Howler Monkey, affectionately called baboons by the locals. Next get an up close look at Belize's wildlife at the Belize Zoo. These stops are at additional cost. Arrive in time for dinner among a 58,000 acre private rain forest reserve on the turquoise waters of the Caves Branch River.

Days 2-3 - Cave and Jungle Adventure
Up close exploration of Belize's rain forest and spectacular limestone caves. Each day choose your guided adventure. Choose from caving adventures such as the River of Caves - Cave Tubing, Waterfall Caves Expedition, Maya Ceremonial Cave Tour, or the Black Hole Drop - Cave Rappelling. You may also choose a jungle trek with local bushman guides, a mountain biking excursion through pristine rainforest, River Kayaking, bird watching, jungle safari after dark, or day trips to local mayan ruins. Each excursion is designed to highlight the regions diverse geology and abundant wildlife. Return each afternoon for a swim in the river and dinner.

Day 4 - Rainforest to Reef
Enjoy a scenic drive through the heart of the Maya Mountains from Caves Branch to the Placencia Peninsula. Upon arrival check in to your beachfront cabana. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to snorkel or relax on the beach in front of your cabana.

Days 5-7 - Reef and Beach Exploration
Awaken to the sound of the gentle surf quietly lapping at the shore. This tranquil spot on the Caribbean Sea is a great place to conclude your AdventureSmith Explorations. An all-day snorkel trip to several reef sites and lunch on a deserted caye is included. Additional activity options (not included) in Placencia include more snorkeling, SCUBA diving, spin and fly fishing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, bicycling, a day trip to the Monkey River, the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary, or a visit to the village of Placencia. Included meals: continental breakfast.

Arrival & Departure:
Belize Sacred Caves and Coasts begins and ends in Belize City. Please plan flights to arrive any time on day 1 and depart in the afternoon on day 8 of the outlined itinerary from Belize City International Airport.
Payment & Cancellation:
In order to confirm this trip, a deposit of $400 is required at the time of booking. A
Reservation Form, which includes a release of liability, must be completed and signed by all travelers. The balance of the trip price is due 90 days before the departure date. Guests who must cancel their trip for any reason must do so in writing. Cancellations are subject to the following fees, based on number of days prior to departure:
Up to 91 days - 50% of deposit
90 to 31 days - 50% of total trip cost
30 to 0 days - 100% of total trip cost
