The state-of-the-art Oceanic Discoverer is the newest small ship operating in Australia and the South Pacific. Oceanic Discoverer accommodates just 72 guests in 36 spacious staterooms and has a cruising speed of 14 knots. Her shallow draft allows her to access even the most isolated and remote locations of the South Pacific, beyond the reach of other ships.

Oceanic Discoverer was built to the exacting international SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) standards and specifications by NQEA shipyard in Cairns, Australia, with one aim in mind: to create the ultimate small ship cruising experience in the South Pacific. Australian flagged, and staffed entirely by an Australian and New Zealand crew, Oceanic Discoverer is equipped with latest-technology navigation and communications equipment and is actively stabilised to ensure comfortable cruising in open seas.

Oceanic Discoverer is equipped with a fleet of inflatable Zodiacs, along with Xplorer, a unique, specially designed excursion vessel. Xplorer is equipped with high horsepower engines and comfortable padded seating accommodating all 72 guests, ensuring that you don’t miss any of the region’s highlights. Xplorer is also fitted with an awning to provide protection from the weather and an onboard toilet. Selected itineraries make use of the ship’s glass-bottom boat.

Common Areas Aboard Coral Oceanic Discoverer

Onboard facilities of this small ship rival that of larger vessels: large sundeck and spa pool, wireless internet, comprehensive reference library, gift shop, limited laundry facilities, phone and fax facilities, lecture lounge with large plasma screens, two fully stocked cocktail bars and a SCUBA diving department on select itineraries.

Oceanic Discoverer operates an open bridge policy, allowing you to spend time with the Captain and his maritime crew as you cruise. Follow your trip's progression on the ship’s charts and chat with Captain, take a guided engine tour or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.
