"The pre-trip excursion to Mayan ruins in Belize and Guatemala was terrific. Kudos to Andrew for putting this together for me on almost no notice. I completely enjoyed lectures by Dr. Bruce Love, Chris Harbard and Jonathan Greene. They are knowledgeable and entertaining and were good teachers. Seeing the ruins with Dr. Love and birding with Chris were exceptional experiences. The Yorktown was a very comfortable ship, the staff was helpful and friendly, the food was great. The guides were wonderful, knowledgeable, friendly, most accommodating. Dora even worked in a trip to the Belize Zoo on my way back to Belize City at my request and guided myself and another couple through that wonderful facility. Henry was my guide in Guatemala. He never rushed me and was able to find a family of howler monkeys after I mentioned I hadn't seen any! It was great to be on a trip with as many singles as were there. Be prepared for cool, damp weather even in the "dry" season. Be sure to bring good walking shoes, going to the Mayan sites or wildlife preserves in sandals is not a good idea."

Custom Belize
This was our second trip to Belize and it surpassed our first. The weather was pleasant with very little rain, and all three visits on our trip were wonderful! The barbeque at Half Moon Caye was outstanding. Both guides we had were fantastic - very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. At Blackbird, everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy with all the arrangements, Phil even loaned me his cat to visit in our cabin since I am such a cat person. AdventureSmith prepared us very well; all the information they sent us was just what we needed to help us with our trip when we got there. They have always been a joy to work with, and have always done their best to customize our wishes. It was so marvelous we plan to go again in January 2012.
