Galapagos Eclipse Cruise
Although we missed the boat departure due to a canceled flight, we arrived one day late. From the moment we arrived on the Eclipse, the rest of the trip was perfect. We really enjoyed the marine iguanas on Fernandina, the tortoises and land iguanas at Urbina Bay, the beauty (and sea lions) of Santiago, snorkeling (with sharks) and kayaking at Tagus Cove, snorkeling around and the view from Bartolome. We loved all the dolphins in the Bolivar Channel. We liked it all!!
Rooms 25 & 27 on the Eclipse were very roomy and well appointed. There was plenty of closet space and storage space in the bathroom. The rooms were cleaned several times a day. We loved our rooms!! There was a great variety of food including vegetables and fruit at every meal. Ricardo, the cruise director, ran a meticulous operation. The variety of excursions was excellent, and the ratio of naturalists to guests was why we selected this boat. Chris Harter's description of what to expect on the boat was spot on. I planned the trip 11 months in advance and spent many hours on the phone and emailing Chris with detailed questions. He always responded quickly and was very professional throughout the entire planning process.

There was not one thing that could have been done better on this trip. Chris spent A LOT of time with me picking just the right ship for the Galapagos trip, and the Islander completely exceeded my expectations. Lindblad was one of the most expensive trips we could choose from to see the Galapagos and it was worth EVERY penny. The quality of the naturalists and staff could not have been better, and I think the quality of this trip comes down to the quality of those leaders. Also, the Islander was the perfect combination of comfort and casual. This was truly a trip of a lifetime. Had read about Lindblad and decided to splurge. WELL worth it.

Galapagos National Geographic Endeavour
An excellent trip! The best part was being up close with the animals, especially the nesting boobies. I LOVE marine iguanas and sea lions, so any encounter with them was great. Hiking was terrific, when it was a little more vigorous. Much better shipboard accommodations that I expected. Not much smaller than a regular cruise ship and well designed. Common spaces were comfortable and not overcrowded. I am a vegetarian and a fussy eater. The head waiter really paid special attention to my dietary needs and preferences. Glad I booked through you!

The grotto alone was worth the entire trip, so amazing! The Experiences we most enjoyed were snorkeling with the sea lions and swimming with the penguins. It was a great grouping of people on board, which made this trip wonderful. We all thanked each other for coming because it was such fun. The accommodations and vessel were excellent. We had an excellent overall trip experience! Metro Touring was excellent service and La Pinta and Hotel Patio Andaluz were exquisite accommodations with great food. Our favorite experiences were the Ecuadorian Buffet, snorkeling and hiking, especially the hike up Bartolome “I’m Framing my photo of Pinnacle Rock”. Advice we give for future La Pinta travelers is you do not need to bring water bottles, snacks, a book, or wetsuits.. but do bring plenty of ones and fives. Adventure Smith did an outstanding job of preparing us for our departure, the book list was wonderful.

Galapagos Odyssey & Peru
“Wow! Both the Galapagos and Peru legs of this trip were GREAT trips of wonder for us both!!! Our favorite experience was the Galapagos Islands becasues we saw ALL the unique animals/birds/vegetation that just can not be replicated anywhere. Although, Peru certainly was magical, mystical, enthralling, super as well! There was not one thing that was not wonderful about this trip. The hotels, the boat, each night were special; our options were perfect in each city and on the islands. On the boat, meals were very good, especially the fresh fruit and fresh fish. Our guids had excellent English and lots of pertinent, solid information to provide in both countries. AdventureSmith prepared us very well with pre-travel information. We were therefore completely prepared and had everything we deeded in each leg of the trip. Our experience was worry free!

La Pinta Galapagos Cruises
We encountered so much wildlife in close proximity and had outstanding guides (special kudos to Vivianne on La Pinta!!) who made the experience incredibly rich. We learned a tremendous amount and were lucky to witness many mating behaviors – the blue-footed booby dance was the best! The hiking and snorkeling offered incredible encounters with the “locals” such as stepping gently around lazy land iguanas or giant tortoises in the narrow paths and snorkeling with playful sea lions and speedy penguins only inches away – exhilarating!
We were fortunate to have many encounters with the wildlife. The list is long but spans from monkeys (7 of the 10 local species spotted) to birds, giant spiders, poisonous tree frogs and a 9' caiman! A favorite moment was watching a capuchin monkey try to intimidate us and upon realizing we were not taking him seriously, he started throwing huge cocoa beans down upon us from the tree!
La Pinta was outstanding. The ship was the perfect size, upscale, nicely appointed, very clean and the entire staff terrific. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay the best. The food was very, very good. The fish offerings were by far the best – fresh, cooked perfectly and nicely prepared.
