Peru is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world offering a unique combination of nature, wildlife, archeology and cultural heritage.

Peru offers a full range of rich experiences, from the traditional highland cultures and Inca archeological sites of Cusco, Urubamba and famed Machu Picchu to the tropical forests of the Amazon Basin. Just a short flight from Cusco lie the rainforests of Manu and Tambopata and a plethora of Amazon lodges.  Farther north is the Amazon city of Iquitos, the starting point for a variety of Amazon small ship cruises. These pristine Amazon rainforests harbor bountiful natural beauty, abundant wildlife and unsurpassed diversity.

Peru is a year-round destination with the best season for adventure travel being the dry, cool season from April through October. This is the best time for hiking and trekking the Inca Trail and Amazon rainforest explorations. Expect some rain if traveling November through March.

Peru's climate is distinct between there geographical regions: The Peruvian Coast and Andean Slopes are generally dry. December though April in this region the sky is clear with hot and humid climate; the remainder of the year coastal fog moves in. In the Andes Mountains the dry season runs May to September with cold nights, dry weather and sunny days. The wettest season in the Andes Mountains runs from late January through March. The Amazon lowlands and eastern Andean slopes have a dry season similar the highlands with a more pronounced wet season.
